Federal funding meeting set at Harper College

Representatives of Cook County government will be on hand from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Harper College’s Wojcik Conference Center to solicit ideas for using federal funds in the Northwest suburbs. The meeting, the final event in the county’s “Community Voices” series, aims to seek the opinions of community residents on the future of significant programs funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, or ARPA. Programs funded so far include the Cook County Promise Guaranteed Income Pilot, the Medical Debt Relief Initiative and Violence Prevention grants. Officials say the ideas presented will directly influence Cook County’s decisions about long-term priorities for funding in the final years of the program. Residents unable to attend in person are encouraged to share their ideas at arpa.cookcountyil.gov/survey.
