Elgin Fire Department to hold open house on Saturday

The Elgin Fire Department will hold an open house at Fire Station #2, 650 Big Timber Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The event will have several demonstrations, including a fire response demonstration at 11 a.m., Fire Explorers demonstration at noon and a fire sprinkler demonstration at 1 p.m.

There will also be games, free children’s eye exams, car seat checks and fire extinguisher demos. In addition, there will be information about hazardous materials and the Elgin Fire and Police Explorer’s posts.
