The value of conserving

“Drill Baby Drill,” but for how long? Petroleum and natural gas are non-renewable resources. Why are we burning them up like there is no end? Petroleum is used for plastics, building materials, pharmaceuticals, textiles, paints, lubricants and many others. If there is adequate sun, use solar; a steady wind, use wind power. Nuclear power is an option, but what do you do with the radioactive waste? Decreasing the burning of fossil fuels will help mitigate climate change.

My parents lived through the Great Depression. They taught “waste not, want not.” Conserve is not a bad word.
