‘A perfect day’ for the Buffalo Grove Days parade
Elected officials have been known for giving in to hyperbole, but Buffalo Grove Village President Eric Smith was only stating the obvious as he greeted spectators Sunday while marching in the Buffalo Grove Days parade.
“Thank you all for coming out on a perfect day,” Smith said as sunny skies and ideal temperatures welcomed the annual parade that drew hundreds of marchers and thousands of spectators.
The parade is always among the highlights of Buffalo Grove Days, a five-day end-of-summer celebration featuring live music, family entertainment and more, all coinciding this year with the opening of a new amphitheater and pavilion at the festival’s home, Mike Rylko Community Park.
The fest wraps up Sunday with more live music, the Meet Me On Main Street
Business & Craft Fair and the Food & Fun event for people with disabilities, as well as the carnival, lots of dining options and other activities.
