Palatine Library District is raising funds for the Next Chapter
The Palatine Public Library District will host a 19-hole mini golf course as a fundraiser from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Main Library, 700 N. North Court in Palatine.
Presented by Rotary Club of Palatine, this fundraiser caps off a yearlong celebration of the library’s 100th anniversary to help raise $10,000 to purchase a giant LiteZilla Lite Brite for the Early Literacy Area in the Main Library.
A LiteZilla provides a fun way for kids to develop vital skills like critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity. All ticket purchases will go directly to the fundraiser.
Friday, Sept. 6 is VIP Night, an exclusive, after-hours edition of mini golf open to adults only with light refreshments served and complimentary wine provided by d’Vine Wine and Gifts. Tickets cost $50 and can be purchased online at palatinelibrary.org/100years.
The weekend is open to the public on Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8. Tickets are $5 per individual and can only be purchased on the day of the event. Cash, debit and credit cards are accepted. After purchase, participants will receive a ticket for their spot in to play.
After participants play a round of mini golf, they can buy delicious food from Palatine’s favorite food trucks, Chicago Culinary Kitchen and My FlavorIt! Place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They can also visit The Workshop Lab for coloring sheet activities.
This event would not be possible without the support of sponsors; Cornerstone National Bank and Trust, First Bank and Trust, Napleton’s Palatine Subaru, Palatine Bank and Trust, and Warehouse Direct.
Members can also support the fundraiser through the library’s online merch store full of limited-edition merchandise with the commemorative 100th anniversary logo.
Items can be purchased through the webstore at palatinelibrary.threadless.com. The store closes on Monday, Sept. 30.
Members still have time to upgrade their library card to a limited-edition card with the commemorative 100th anniversary logo for free. First-time cardholders need to bring in one form of ID with their current address to apply for a card.
The vision of Palatine Library District is to inspire connection, curiosity and joy. The Palatine Public Library District serves residents predominantly within the communities of Palatine and Hoffman Estates.
