Lombard wants nominations for Senior of the Year awards

Lombard is looking to celebrate seniors who give of their time and talents to their community.

The village’s community relations committee is now taking nominations for the Senior of the Year award program. Nominees must be at least 65 and live within Lombard. Nominations should include a brief statement about why the senior deserves the honor, along with a short bio.

“Each year, the Senior of the Year Awards give us the opportunity to recognize and thank seniors in our community who are making a difference — no matter how big or small,” said Lombard Trustee and committee Chair Dan Militello in a statement. “It only takes a few minutes to nominate a neighbor, friend, or family member that has contributed to making Lombard such a great place to live, and we look forward to recognizing their contributions.”

Nominations are due by 4:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and can be submitted by mail to Village of Lombard, Attention: “Senior of the Year,” 255 E. Wilson, Lombard, IL, 60148, or via email at communications@villageoflombard.org.
