Hunt Club Road/Washington Street improvements underway in Gurnee

Utility relocation is progressing at Hunt Club Road and Washington Street, a major intersection in Gurnee.

North Shore Gas relocation is expected to be completed by the end of August with ComEd, Comcast and AT&T relocations expected by the end of October, allowing construction at the intersection to begin.

Water main and storm sewer construction is expected to start in October/November and the project will carry into 2025.

Dual left-turn lanes and a right-turn lane will be added on all legs of the intersections and crosswalks along with sidewalk ramps and drainage improvements.

Also as part of the project, a bike path gap just east of the intersection will be completed and a new path installed from Washington Street north to Dada Drive.
