Moose-a-Palooza annual music fest benefits Mooseheart Child City and School

Batavia Moose Lodge 682 is hosting its seventh annual Moose-a-Palooza, an outdoor music fest and fundraiser, on Saturday, Aug. 24.

It will be a day filled with music, food, and good vibes all around. This outdoor event is an opportunity to support a great cause while having a blast with friends and family.

All net proceeds help the Batavia Moose Lodge support the needs of the children at Mooseheart Child City and School. The Child City is a home for children and teens in need, from infancy through high school.

Stop by the Moose Lodge at 1535 S. Batavia Ave. between 1-9 p.m. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. Whether you're a fan of rock, Americana, or pop from the 1960s to the present, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

The music stage will open at 1 p.m. with Croozin’ the Loop, known for engaging performances, rich vocal harmonies and an extensive song list that is 100% danceable. It includes something for everyone, from 1950s rock 'n' roll, 1960s British Invasion, dance hits from the 1970s, Motown classics, and more.

At 3 p.m., Jonny Lyons and the Pride will be performing music from Johnny Cash to Elvis Presley, as well as his own recordings.

At 5 p.m., Off Broadway is back with its original lineup with the magic from 40 years ago. Their 1979 album reached No. 101 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the single “Stay in Time,” which reached No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. Off Broadway released a follow-up album, “Quick Turns,” in 1980 and continued touring for three years before breaking up in 1983.

Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts will close out the festival, starting at 7 p.m. The Rockford, Illinois-based Miles Nielsen has spent nearly a decade enthralling audiences with music that draws force from the prime years of Western-influenced rock music and classic 1960s soul, with influences as diverse as Otis Redding’s classic soul and Jellyfish’s cult power pop recordings.

Bring your own chair for the shaded outdoor venue. Tickets are $30 available on Eventbrite.com or $35 at the gate.
