Huntley Unit District 158's Multilingual Parent Advisory Committee to meet Aug. 26
Huntley Unit District 158's Multilingual Parent Advisory Committee will have its first meeting of the 2024-25 school year on Monday, Aug. 26. It will begin at 6 p.m. at the district office, 650 Dr. John Burkey Drive in Algonquin. Parents or guardians of bilingual and multilingual students are encouraged to attend.
In Illinois, a Multilingual Parent Advisory Committee is a group of key stakeholders formed within schools to support and enhance the educational experience of students who are English Language Learners (ELLs).
The committee includes bilingual parents, educators, and community members. Their role is to provide input on the development and implementation of bilingual and ESL programs, address concerns related to language barriers, and promote effective communication between the school and bilingual families.
