What’s taken her so long?

I’ve been watching Kamala Harris campaigning and exclaiming how she has plans to fix inflation, secure the border, etc. That’s great news, but isn’t she the vice president and has been for three and half years as an integral part of the Biden-Harris administration, so why hasn’t she done anything to fix these problems until now?
