Hoffman Estates Citizen’s Police Academy seek applicants for fall session

The Hoffman Estates Police Department will offer its 33rd Annual Citizen’s Police Academy this fall.

The Citizen’s Police Academy will meet every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. between Sept. 3 and Nov. 19. The academy will take place at the police station at 411 W. Higgins Road and also includes a tour of the Northwest Central Dispatch Center.

Citizen’s Police Academy presentations will be made by firearms instructors, Problem Oriented Police/Crime Prevention Division, investigations, use-of-force instructors, evidence technicians, Traffic Section/DUI, tactical unit/gangs/narcotics and the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPAS)/SWAT.

Applications are located on the police department’s website. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and and reside, attend school or work in Hoffman Estates.
