Glen Ellyn hires new community development director
Glen Ellyn’s new community development director will be sworn into the role at a village board meeting on Aug. 26.
Jennifer Henaghan will lead a department tasked with coordinating the review and analysis of all development projects in town.
Henaghan most recently was the assistant director of community development for the village of Addison. She also was instrumental in establishing the Thorndale Corridor tax increment financing plan in Wood Dale and Lombard’s downtown redevelopment plan, according to a news release.
“Jennifer’s experience with municipal planning has been evident through her years of work in our neighboring communities,” said Glen Ellyn Village Manager Mark Franz in a statement. “Her professionalism and expertise will benefit and shape the organization as it continues to meet the expectations of the community.”
Henaghan earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a certificate of civic leadership from Northern Illinois University.
