Pottawatomie Garden Club awards two scholarships

The Pottawatomie Garden Club awarded two scholarships this year to two graduates of St. Charles East High School. The recipients were Ellie Clark and Jersey Chytla.

Ellie is currently a freshman at Hillsdale College majoring in biology. Her goal is to use her degree to become a horticulturist and create beautiful gardens.

Jersey attends the University of Calgary where he majors in environmental science. His wish is to attend University of Chicago for a graduate degree.

Awarding scholarships to local graduates is one of the many missions of the garden club. The club is also very involved in the beautification of St. Charles. The club meets monthly from March until October and their meetings are open to the public.
