Afrofest celebrates African culture and heritage

Afrofest, a celebration of African culture and heritage, will be held from 12 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at Greenbelt Cultural Center, 1215 N. Green Bay Road, North Chicago.

Live music performances will be featured throughout the day with headliner Delivery Point taking the state at 6 p.m. The group blends traditional African rhythms with modern sounds to create a unique fusion.

The family-friendly event is geared for all ages. Local food vendors will offer a variety of options. Admission and parking are free.
