District 211 residents’ input sought in survey, forums on hiring of next superintendent

Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 is seeking community input as part of its national search for a new superintendent.

The new hire will replace Superintendent Lisa Small, who will retire in June 2025 after more than three decades in various District 211 roles, including the last five as superintendent.

District residents are encouraged to complete a brief survey and attend virtual or in-person community forums that will address the district’s perceived strengths and challenges, and the characteristics preferred in the next leader of the state’s largest high school system.

Forums will be held virtually at 7 p.m. Aug. 19 and 9 a.m. Aug. 20, and in person at 7 p.m. Aug. 20 in the Palatine High School auditorium and 7 p.m. Aug. 21 in the Conant High School auditorium.

Links to the virtual sessions can be found by visiting the Superintendent Search page at https://adc.d211.org/superintendentsearch and clicking “Community Input.”

The survey link also is available there and can be automatically translated.

The survey will close at the end of the day Aug. 20.
