Biden made right decision
Over the last few weeks, several letters have claimed or inferred that the Democratic Party “elite” were “setting up” the nomination of Kamala Harris for president. Several times we have heard that the party is or was ignoring or cheating the 14 million primary voters who voted for President Biden. Let us remember that over 75 and possibly over 80 million voters will be marking for the Democratic Party, not 14 million voters. It is quite possible that any poll of those 14 million voters for Biden would now show a large approval that Biden’s decision to withdraw has become what appears to be a good one.
It appears that at least two thirds of the Americans polled over the last six months were not happy with two nominees with age in either their late 70s or early 80s. The Democrats looked hard at the polls and urged Biden to make a decision to help preserve a joyful democracy against what continues to look like an dark autocratic alternative. It seems to be working out better than anticipated versus a lot of “it’s not fair” whining. And yes, Mr. Trump, it is constitutional.
