Dogs launch five homers but fall to Cleburne

The Dogs hit five home runs and battled back from a 6-0 first-inning deficit, but dropped another one run game to the Cleburne Railroaders, 10-9.

Cleburne scored six runs on six hits and two walks off Jake Carroll, who did not make it out of the first inning. A two-run home run by Brian O’Grady and a three-run shot by Korey Holland accounted for the big hits in the frame.

The Dogs got three runs on the seventh home run of the season by Johnni Turbo, a solo shot, and a two-run homer by Narciso Crook, making it 6-3 in the third inning. Cleburne took a 9-3 lead heading into the fifth inning.

The Dogs scored the next six runs on a pair of solo homers by Chase Harris and an RBI single by Zion Pettigrew to make it 9-7. In the ninth inning with two outs, Crook hit his second homer of the game and fifth of the series off Railroader closer Dylan Bice, tying the game at nine.

However, in the bottom of the ninth, Holland led off with a triple and scored the game winning run on a sacrifice fly by Brett Boswell.
