  Sylvan Lake near Mundelein has been lowered as part of $3.4 million project to reconstruct a century old dam, presenting a chance to find some lost history and chronicle days gone by in the close knit community. Residents have found quite a few lost items on the exposed bottom, including dentures, an old sled, boats and other stuff. An unexpected concrete foundation 4 feet below the lake bed stopped work temporarily but has been resolved. Mick Zawislak/mzawislak@dailyherald.com
