Wheeling office building redevelopment plan up for review
Wheeling’s plan commission will meet Aug. 14 to consider the final draft of a plan to convert a vacant, three-story office building into a four-story apartment building with ground-floor commercial space.
A development company wants to renovate the building at 350 E. Dundee Road. It would be called Forest View.
The nearly 74,000-square-foot structure formerly was occupied by Solex College and Cole Taylor Bank. It stands on about 7 acres.
The village board approved a preliminary redevelopment plan in March. Approval of a final plan is needed, and it must first be reviewed by the plan commission.
The commission meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at village hall, 2 Community Blvd.
