Lake Zurich village board appoints trustee to fill vacancy

A familiar face has been added to the Lake Zurich village board as interim trustee.

Jake Marx, who served on the village’s advisory planning and zoning commission, was sworn in Monday to fill the spot of Dan Bobrowski who is moving out of state and resigned effective Aug. 1.

“We were fortunate to get eight extremely high-level candidates,” said Mayor Tom Poynton. “I could have chosen any one of the eight applicants and not gone wrong.”

Marx has a masters in public policy from Loyola University and experience in project management, site acquisition, zoning and permitting and environmental regulations, said Poynton.

The appointment was approved by the full board. Marx will serve until April 30, 2025.
