Chicago Dogs lose on eighth-inning home run
Brian O’Grady homered off Lucas Galdoni in the bottom of the eighth inning, breaking a 4-4 tie and sending the Cleburne Railroaders to their second straight one run win over the Dogs, taking Game 2 of the series 5-4 on Wednesday.
Cleburne scored four runs off Kenny Serwa, all in the fourth inning. An RBI single from Korey Holland and a bases-clearing double by Brett Boswell gave the Railroaders a 4-0 lead.
The Dogs scored three runs in the top of the fifth without a hit leaving the infield. A balk and two bases-loaded walks brought Chicago within 4-3. The Dogs tied the game in the seventh when Dusty Stroup hit his 13th home run of the year and his fifth in the last seven games.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, O’Grady took a 2-2 pitch to the opposite field off Galdoni over the left-field wall, for his 18th home run of the season giving Cleburne a 5-4 lead.
