Finalists for Aurora Ward 1 seat announced

Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin announced five finalists Friday to fill the vacant Ward 1 seat on the city council.

The finalists are Steve Banks, Dan Barreiro, Jeffrey Donelson, Guadalupe Magana and Hector Martinez.

Irvin will announce his recommendation to the Aurora City Council at its meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday at City Ha, 44 E. Downer Place.

Eleven people applied for the post. Emmanuel Llamas resigned in July.

The replacement will serve through April.
