Battling buckthorn and other invasive plants is the topic of Wild Ones Lake-to-Prairie chapter from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6 at Fremont Public Library, 1170 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein.

Sarah Michehl, community ecologist with the Land Conservancy of McHenry County, will share practical information on how to rid your property of buckthorn, honeysuckle, garlic mustard and other invasive plant species, including strategies to control them and native plant replacements.
