The Just Food Initiative of the Fox Valley to host farmers market in Aurora
A farmers market will be held on Sunday, July 28, from 1 to 5 p.m., at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 1855 Fifth Ave. in Aurora.
The market will offer a wide range of real, clean, green, unadulterated food items including: fresh salad greens, fruit and veggie juices, organic apple butter, Greek desserts and more.
Attendees are invited to meet organic farmers and holistic health practitioners.
The event also will feature learning tents sharing information on how to stay healthy and prepare meals from fresh foods at home. Topics will include "Gut Health,” "Making Juices at Home,” "What's Inside a Seed,” "Free Food Seeds and Seed Catalogs,” "What I Eat=What Disease I Get” and "Keeping Carbon Pipelines off our Farms.”

Seniors, students and families in financial need can inquire about the Gold Sovereigns program which offers up to $25 in assistance to purchase foods at the market. Link cards will be accepted. Church tours will available.
