The wise choice: Manchin
Now that President Joe Biden has finally agreed to step aside and suggested that VP Kamala Harris be the nominee, it should be a rip-roaring Democratic convention. While Harris may seem to be the logical choice, I suspect there are many in the Democratic Party who are not very excited about her as their candidate.
Therefore, it looks as though it will be a battle between the Clinton faction, the Obama faction, the Bernie Sanders wing, and those who like Gavin Newsom. In the end, the big donors will determine who should be selected, but I still think it won't be Kamala Harris.
If they were wise, they would turn to Joe Manchin who is a true moderate and probably would have the best chance of uniting the country. Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen.
