Suburban Skyview: Marquee on the move at new Aurora theater

“Million Dollar Quartet” is now in full swing at Stolp Island Theatre in downtown Aurora.

The show gives the audience a peek into a legendary 1956 recording session by four music icons: Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

Prior to the show’s opening July 10, the new theater at 5 E. Downer Place had a digital marquee and blade sign installed over its riverwalk entrance. Crews from Aurora Sign Co. and Atlas Crane Service moved the signs across the Fox River under the watchful eye of Creg Sclavi, Stolp Island Theatre project manager and co-director of “Million Dollar Quartet.”

The Stolp Island Theatre is a new venue of Aurora’s Paramount Theatre. Information about shows at the theater, as well as the Paramount and RiverEdge Park, can be found at paramountaurora.com.
