Guard rails removed from GOP

In listening to the commentaries and reading about the presenters at the RNC, there are very few individuals who served in Trump's first term who have a role to play in the convention.

Nikki Haley, who was U.N. ambassador and was Trump's principal challenger during the primaries, had a speaking role. Ronny Jackson (his personal physician) and Ben Carson do not have a prime-time role.

But where are any of the following individuals — Mile Pence, John Kelly, William Barr, Mark Meadows, James Matis. Mike Pompeo, Mark Esper and on and on. Were they even invited?

These individuals provided the guardrail to constrain Trump so the country could work for all. His current vice presidential selection, J.D. Vance, has indicated his loyalty to Trump and has said he would not certify an election for a Democratic winner in 2024 if Trump did not win.

Loyalty over country. All guardrails off. Very dangerous. These are perilous times. Vote so our country can still work for everyone.
