Wheeling apartment damaged by fire

No one was injured in an apartment fire Monday morning in Wheeling, officials said.

The blaze was reported about 11:15 a.m. in a first-floor unit on the 400 block of Pleasant Run Drive, according to the Wheeling Fire Department. It was contained to a living room and quickly extinguished, officials said.

One resident was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights with what fire officials called a minor concern unrelated to the fire.

Tenants were allowed back into their homes.

The cause of the fire was under investigation Tuesday.
