Seigle Foundation underwrites Gail Borden’s Early Learning Center 2025 renovation
The Seigle Foundation recently announced the award of almost $400,000 in grants to 14 local nonprofits, including the Gail Borden Public Library Foundation.
Gail Borden Public Library CEO Carole Medal, said, “Children and families who visit the Main Library’s Early Learning Center will be delighted to learn that the Seigle Foundation generously opened their hearts and have given their support for our Early Learning Center 2025 renovation.”
“This year’s Seigle grant funds a new wooden playhouse to transform the space into neighborhoods of imaginative cooperative play, and an Everbright light wall to stimulate brain development through creativity and motor skills,” Medal said. “We are grateful for the Seigle Foundation’s support in making this community a better place for all.”
The other nonprofits include: Alignment Collaborative for Education, Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley, U-46 Educational Foundation, Elgin Partnership for Early Learning, Kids Above All Illinois, Summit School, Elgin Math and Science Academy, The Literacy Connection, Farmworker and Landscaper Advocacy Project, Elgin Public Museum of Natural History & Anthropology, Clearbrook, YWCA Elgin, and Three Fires Council, Boy Scouts of America.
The foundation is committed to high quality education opportunities that prepare young people in the Elgin and Dundee area for success in their lives and career. This work may include (but is not limited to) early childhood education, K-12 programming, after school programs and community colleges.
