Informational session for Safe&Aware Youth Ambassadorship Program hosted at Palatine Library

The Palatine Public Library will be hosting an informational session at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, for local sixth- to tenth-graders interested in applying to the Safe&Aware Youth Ambassadorship Program. Safe&Aware is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for the safety of women and youth within the community.

Safe&Aware is now accepting applications for its ambassadorship program, which provides leadership training and service opportunities for selected middle and high school students. It's an opportunity for students to be leaders at their schools or community organizations, amplifying safety awareness and violence prevention across a broader audience, gaining service hours, and igniting a widespread movement of consciousness and positive change.

The informational session on July 28, at the library, will provide an overview of the Safe&Aware ambassadorship, including the application process, program components, and the benefits for participants. Representatives from the nonprofit will be on hand to answer questions and assist interested students and families.

The Safe&Aware ambassadorship is open to students in sixth through 10th grade. The program runs for one academic year and includes monthly training sessions, volunteer projects in the community and networking opportunities with other youth leaders.

The application for the 2024-2025 Safe&Aware ambassadorship can be found on the organization’s website at safeandaware.blog.
