Annual Carol Stream dog show and festival returns for 7th year Aug. 4.

Central Bark-Carol Stream is hosting its seventh annual Charity Dog Show & Festival along with VetBros Pet Education Charitable Fund, on Sunday, Aug. 4. It will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ross Ferraro Town Center, Gary Avenue and Lies Road in Carol Stream.

All proceeds will benefit the VetBros Pet Education Charitable Fund, which helps support veterinarians in offering low or no-cost veterinary services and lifesaving care to pet owners struggling with financial hardships across greater Chicago.

VetBros, alongside Central Bark, also works to help homeless pet owners find free veterinary care for their pets and support animals who are injured or recently rescued from abuse and neglect.

“As veterinary care costs continue to increase, many pet owners are limited in their ability to provide proper care for their pets, forcing many dog owners to make the difficult choice to forgo veterinary care because they simply cannot afford the costs,” said Dr. Mondrian Contreras, founder of VetBros Pet Educational Charitable Fund and owner of Central Bark Carol Stream. “Through our charitable fund, we’ve been able to help hundreds, if not thousands of dogs by providing lifesaving surgeries otherwise unattainable to them.”

The seventh annual Charity Dog Show & Festival will feature over 50 vendors, rescues, and local organizations as sponsors, volunteers and supporters. There will be animals up for adoption, free giveaways, treats, pet accessories and goods for sale, food and alcohol vendors, kid-friendly activities, and more.

Dogs will have the chance to run an agility course and try out the doggy water play area. Contests during the event will include:

• Best Senior Dog

• Dog Agility Performances

• Best Trick

• Dog Races

• Best Puppy

• Best Dog Voice

• Best Rescue Over and Under 30 Pounds

• Best Costume

• Prettiest Pooch

Dr. Contreras added, “We hope the community will come out and support this event. With approximately 50 local veterinarians under the VetBros umbrella, the funds raised during our Annual Dog Show & Festival will go a long way in helping the dogs and pet parents that need it the most.”
