Lesser of two evils is impending disaster

an independent moderate voter, I prioritize fiscal responsibility, social equality, robust national defense, and minimal government interference. I support empowering social programs and a balanced approach to environmental and economic concerns. I stand for law and order, fair immigration policies, and a foreign policy that acknowledges our global leadership role while addressing domestic needs.

I am unsettled by extremists on both ends of the political spectrum. While I vote for individuals, I am open to aligning with a party that resonates with my beliefs. However, I find that both major parties have failed to do so.

The recent presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump highlighted the broken state of our political process. Neither candidate seems capable of effectively leading our polarized nation. I lack faith in Biden’s mental capacity and find Trump’s arguments often based on inaccurate facts.

Our hope lies in the emergence of a new leader at our political conventions, someone who can inspire improvement, make sound decisions, and effectively communicate complex issues. We need a leader who embodies the golden rule and whose integrity is beyond reproach.

Neither Biden nor Trump fits this description. I challenge our political leaders to select someone who can avert the impending disaster we face in November. I want to vote for someone, not against someone. At this point, it would be a choice between the lesser of two evils, a choice that is not the best our great nation can offer. We need a foreign policy that balances our global leadership role with the importance of meeting Americans’ needs.
