Go fishing with Mundelein police on Saturday

Grab your poles and lures, fishing fans, and head to Mundelein: the police department’s annual Cops N Bobbers fishing derby is Saturday, July 13.

The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the Mundelein Seminary, 1000 E. Maple Ave. People should enter the seminary grounds from Route 45 and follow the signs to the derby site.

Entry is free and registration isn’t needed. Participants 16 or older need state fishing licenses.

A limited number of fishing poles and a limited amount of bait will be available if you don’t have your own.

The first 100 kids to show up will get free T-shirts.
