Buffalo Grove police chilling with the community

The Buffalo Grove Police Department is participating in Operation Chill. For the 29th year, 7-Eleven is partnering with local police departments to distribute free Slurpee drink coupons to children through the Operation Chill community service program.

Buffalo Grove Police, when they engage with youth, distribute the Slurpee coupons as a reward for good deeds, constructive activities and acts of kindness, whether it’s deterring crime, wearing a bike helmet or taking part in a community event.

“Rewarding positive behaviors fosters better relationships between our local children and our police officers, and it promotes a culture of kindness,” Police Chief Brian Budds said.
