Carnival, games and food highlight Mundelein festival

A wide variety of carnival rides, games and restaurant offerings coupled with live music gave people attending the Mundelein Community Days festival Friday plenty of options for fun at Courtland Commons Park.

Activities on Saturday include a 9 a.m. pet parade, a car show, bingo, a horseshoe tournament and a jalapeno eating contest at 7 p.m.

A Fourth of July Parade starts at 2 p.m. at Mundelein High School, goes eastward on Hawley, turns south onto Seymour, then goes east on Division before ending at the Metra Station, which is a short distance from the festival grounds.

Mundelein Community Days continues through Sunday.
