Elk Grove police seek input as part of reaccreditation evaluation

The public is invited to comment on the Elk Grove Village Police Department as part of its ongoing evaluation for reaccreditation by the National Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

The department first was accredited in 1993 and has been reaccredited nine times since. As part of the program, the department is scheduled for an on-site assessment from July 29 through Aug. 1 to achieve its 10th reaccreditation.

Anyone wishing to provide comments can visit https://cimrs2.calea.org/371. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns.

The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the police department with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
