U-46 officials get first look at budget

Elgin Area Unit District 46’s proposed budget will be available for public review starting Aug. 6.

The district’s tentative budget shows $858.8 million in expenses, including $125 million for building projects. The district anticipates receiving $792 million in revenue, excluding bonds, or loans, for the district’s building projects.

School board members recently reviewed the tentative 2024-2025 budget before setting a public hearing for Sept. 9.
