Former Deer Park trustee could rejoin board

A former Deer Park trustee could be appointed to the village board Thursday night.

Michael Mann is Village President Greg Rusteberg’s choice to fill the vacancy on the panel. It’s up to the five current trustees to approve the nomination.

If appointed, Mann would succeed Victoria Zimmerman, who resigned in March after four years for personal reasons, officials said Wednesday.

Mann was appointed to the board in 2020 and lost his seat in the 2021 election. His 2023 campaign to join the board was unsuccessful.

Thursday’s meeting is set for 7 p.m. at the Vehe Barn, 23570 W. Cuba Road.
