Play basketball with competitiveness, class

Chennedy Carter, the Chicago Sky player who pushed Caitlin Clark to the ground, continues to double down on her unsportsmanlike behavior. The push was not a demonstration of aggressive basketball play; it was a cheap shot. Ms. Carter has quite a record of bad behavior and apparently is proud of it. How immature.

It is so sad that many of the WNBA players are insanely jealous of the attention that Caitlin Clark has garnered due to her outstanding basketball skills - both in college and now, as a fledgling professional.

I am glad that many NBA players support Caitlin Clark and recognize how the fan enthusiasm she brings to women's basketball will benefit the entire WNBA. Clark has gained attention not because she is white as some have argued, but because she is an excellent athlete and one who conducts herself with grace and class.

I hope that the women of the WNBA will cut out the catty and bullying behavior and get down to clean, competitive and sportsmanlike basketball.
