Neuqua Valley graduate earns Naval award

Ensign Peter Cogan, a 2019 graduate of Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, was named an honor graduate from the Basic Qualification Course at Naval Supply Corps School in Newport, Rhode Island.

Cogan graduated from The Ohio State University in 2023, and subsequently joined the Navy. He graduated from the Naval Supply Corps School June 7.

Navy supply officers ensure that sailors have necessary tools and equipment to deter threats and maintain readiness, essentially global logistics support.

Cogan is assigned to the USS Vermont, ported at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Oahu, Hawaii.
