Buffalo Grove Park District hosting free talk about recycling

The Buffalo Grove Park District’s citizen Environmental Action Team is inviting area residents to a free talk about recycling and composting at 6 p.m. June 17, at the Alcott Community Center, 530 Bernard Drive in Buffalo Grove.
Representatives from Waste Management and the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County will be on hand to clear up confusion about which items can be recycled. Such confusion can lead to “wishcycling,” with people putting items into a recycling bin in the hopes that they can be recycled, without really knowing. This practice can lead to contamination of recycling batches or a breakdown of processing machines.
