Slow down and save lives

We have all been at an intersection and witnessed a car speeding through the red light. And if you're like me, you're just thankful that you waited the extra second or two because you've become so accustomed to red-light runners. It has to stop. And it's going to take all of us to make it stop.

The Des Plaines mother of five killed recently at the intersection of Meacham and Biesterfield Roads was just the latest victim of this selfish behavior. This mother of five was no doubt looking forward to getting home from work and relaxing before starting all over the next day. Instead, her family will grieve and her children will grow up without her in their lives.

Drivers, please slow down, think about the other people on the road, and keep us all a bit safer.
