Man charged with giving false info on gun permit application

A Lombard man has been accused of lying on his application for an Illinois Firearm Owners Identification card.

Raphael L. Hunter, 33, of the 2200 block of South Grace Street, was arraigned Friday in DuPage County Circuit Court. According to court records, he was indicted in January and arrested in May. He is free on pretrial release.

Hunter faces two felony counts of unlawful violation of the FOID Act and two felony counts of forgery. The charges allege he supplied false information on the application.

Hunter submitted his application via email, according to a spokesman for the attorney general’s office. He did not obtain any weapons, according to the spokesman.

He did not report having a felony conviction, according to the spokesman.

The attorney general is prosecuting the case.
