Confidence-building experience at school

Kudos go out to Vernon Hills High School business teacher Carolyn McDonald and the students in her Sports and Entertainment Marketing classes. Recently, I had the pleasure and the privilege to be invited as a guest speaker for Ms. McDonald's classes and share my stories and experiences as a sports front-office executive. I was so impressed with her students.

These kids had enthusiasm. These kids wanted to learn. They asked good questions. They showed respect. Their interest was so genuine, so sincere.

Several days later, to my surprise, I received written thank you notes from each and every student. So incredibly thoughtful. Thank you, students. And thank you, Ms. McDonald. Kind acts like this restore our faith in young people and doing the right thing, doing good things.

And it gives us confidence in the teachers who teach their students classroom lessons and life lessons. You guys all get an A+.
