Chicago Dogs pitching falters as team drops Game 2, 9-8

Entering the game on a three-game losing streak, Chicago Dogs manager Jeff Isom knew there were changes to be made.

Isom’s lineup showcased two of the team's new players, Nick Novak and Antonio Barranca. Novak had the start at shortstop, replacing Pavin Parks who was released prior to the game. Barranca started behind the plate, pushing Nick Dalesandro to right field.

Despite Milwaukee getting ahead early, scoring three runs off of Steven Lacey in the second inning, a huge Dogs rally scored eight runs between the fourth and fifth innings in a 9-8 loss Wednesday night. Home runs from Narciso Crook and Johnni Turbo, plus RBI from Dalesandro, Novak and Dusty Stroup, helped contribute to the Dogs hit parade.

Following Milwaukee’s 3-run second inning, the Milkmen scored three additional runs between the fourth and sixth innings, forcing Lacey to depart the game on rough terms. Davis Pratt relieved Lacey in the bottom of the sixth inning, finding his way out of a huge jam, leaving three Milwaukee runners on base.

Pratt was in full control for the 2⅓ innings he pitched, striking out two batters while not allowing a hit.
