WNBA must protect game
I’ve watched the replays of the flagrant foul by one of the Chicago Sky against Caitlin Clark. It’s more pathetic every replay. One of the Sky even gave the offender a hug as she walked to the bench.
Clark handled it with class. It hasn’t been the first. It happens almost every game. Most commentators are of the opinion that due to her publicity and endorsements that it’s just a matter of jealousy. Apparently, those that want to send her a message are so stupid that they don’t understand why so many pack stadiums and there is more TV coverage to watch Clark, so it is bringing millions of new eyes to the WNBA.
All the players will get so much more exposure and more financial opportunities. The WNBA needs to get aggressive in enforcing flagrant foul penalties with fines and suspensions or it will sink again into a very narrow following of their product and continue to lose money. No one enjoys watching a mugging.
