Politicians should look in the mirror

On the front page of Friday's Daily Herald. there is a headline “Republican lawmakers react with fury, rally to his defense.” House Speaker Mike Johnson said that it was a shameful day in American history and the charges were political. Well, Mr. Johnson, you were partly right about the day, but the shameful part was because an ex-president was convicted of 34 counts by a jury, and Mr. Scalise, who stated a defeat for Americans who believe in critical legal tenet that justice is blind, but what he should be more concerned about is the Supreme Court justices that are not on the up-and-up or maybe Mr. Scalise is blind.

Also Mr. J.D. Vance said it was a disgrace to the judicial system. Maybe he should have said that a disgrace was that a former president was found guilty of 34 counts falsifying business records, which by the way was the opinion of the entire jury.

The time has come that these politicians, instead of standing behind a former president in a courtroom, start working for the people of The United States of which pays their salaries. Talk about what is disgraceful. Maybe politicians should look in the mirror. Then maybe they will start flying straight.
