Officials: Unknown substance prompts hazmat response at Elgin Police Department

The Elgin Fire Department was called to investigate an unknown substance that was brought to the Elgin Police Department Monday evening, officials said.

At 5:15 p.m., the Elgin Fire Department started their investigation and determined the substance was not hazardous, according to an Elgin Police Department Facebook post. No further information was available.
