Cartoon gave wrong view of stables
I am writing in response to the distasteful cartoon that appeared in the Daily Herald, which indicated a complete lack of compassion and accuracy of the Palatine Park District’s abrupt closing of the Palatine Stables. Please make sure you have all of the information, including the incredible facility, trainers, special needs students and young riders who are impacted by a cartoon that inaccurately implies dilapidated horses going out to pasture.
Palatine Stables is a tremendous working stable that does so much good for this community, including the horses, ponies and humans that are all a part of it. What if we show some support for a barn that has been unfairly forced to shut down when it is thriving better than ever? What if we show compassion for these amazing horses and ponies, not to mention the hundreds of committed riders and young workers who make this place an amazing opportunity for so many?
We ask you to join us to save this establishment, not throw in the towel. Please do better.
