The ‘truck stop that’s not a truck stop’

The GasNWash Truck Stop proposal is for a truck stop that’s not a truck stop. At least that’s what the person presenting the plan said at the meeting. He never mentioned the gaming or liquor attraction at this site.

I think they need to be truthful and admit they want the revenue from this truck stop more than they care about the surrounding residents’ opposition.

Usually, truck stops are off the interstate. This site is nowhere near the interstate. It’s a very poor choice for our residential neighborhood but they don’t care because the all-mighty dollar is more important than how out-of- place this truck stop is.

It’s not just a gas station. We would support a gas station and a strip mall like we had in the past. In order to get the gaming and liquor stores without any restrictions, it is required to be a truck stop.

I dislike the way they are handling this project. It seems to be opening a can of worms. If this gas station can have gambling and liquor sales, then why not every other gas station? After all, he said, “It's a truck stop that’s not a truck stop.” You can’t have it both ways. The two former plan commissioners voted no because they see this is not a good plan for this site
